The band got started in the summer of 2000, rehearsing in the non air-conditioned, 3rd story attic of an old, ready to burn to the ground, house near Damen and Montrose. We nearly did burn that house down on more than one occasion as we enjoyed burning things, such as candles, during rehearsal and sometimes forgot to extinguish them at the end of the night. One year and one 5 track CD later, we decided to abandon the attic, and relocate to the luxurious basement studio belonging to the bands heart and soul, a Mr. John Liggett, who writes the lyrics and provides the basic "blueprint" for much of the bands original music. John sings lead vocals with reckless abandon and plays guitar. The band has played all over Chicagoland, from shitty little dive bars where the stage was about the size of a claustrophobic service elevator, to some of the city's better venues such as Cubby Bear, Fitzgerald's, Beat Kitchen, Elbo Room. Outdoor events include fronting national acts such as The Fabulous Thunderbirds, Roomfull of Blues, and Molly Hatchet. The band has enjoyed radio airplay on Chicago's own WXRT, as well as numerous, musician friendly radio stations across the country. A few key personnel changes have occurred, most recently the addition of the lovely and vivacious Casandre Siva on backing and lead vocals, who brings a gutsy and true to the blues, straight from the heart, vocal and visual experience. It's no wonder - Casandre cut her blues teeth opening for Muddy Waters, Willie Dixon and War. In the fall of 2003, the band waived in the smooth, driving force of Dave Kohn on drums. Dave has great ears and provides a comfortable bed upon which the band plays their licks. Rounding out the rhythm section is co-founder Pete Senger whose straightforward attack on bass is occasionally punctuated with clever melodic lines during the bands improvisational moments. Last but not least is the colorful and fiery lead and slide guitar work of Bill Galey who originally auditioned for the band five years ago under the premise that he was a keyboard player, even though he didn't own a keyboard at the time (and didn't play keys particularly well). Bill is a self taught guitar player, who learned his chops listening to folks like Duane Allman, Hendrix, Garcia etc., etc. The bands influences are diverse, from delta blues to jazz fusion, from Bob Dylan to Frank Zappa, resulting in a bluesy melodic rock and folk rock blend with a splash of Americana and a touch of psychedelic, reminding some listeners of The Allman Brothers and The Grateful Dead.
