Songwriter, producer and performer, Marcquis Melody sings the Jamaican style of reggae with lyrics ranging from 'Praises to Jah' and 'Youth Issues' to 'Love for Women and Music.' Many of his works are original creations engineered at his own Skank So Recording Studio.
Linking with several Kingston friends Marcquis Melody first released a four version Single titled "Take It Easy." It is a Roots riddim and a response by the youth about the many fears people have of coming to the "City" in Jamaica known as Kingston.
Marcquis Melody's second release is a fun Dancehall style four version Single titled "So Many Girls." This project gives credence to the abundance of beautiful women in the world but especially in Jamaica.
Also released is yet a third Single titled "Tree Of Life." This is a Roots tune and features conscious lyrics about life and death. It features a more serious side of the artist.
The "Introduce Myself" CD is essentially a unique compilation of the three Single releases plus the addition of some previously unreleased tracks. "Introduce Myself" is certain to become a unique collector's item as it not only represents the earliest releases of Marcquis Melody ever but also are executive produced by the artist.
Keep your eyes and ears open for continued works of Marcquis Melody. To be released in 2002 will be Mr. Melody's first full length Album Project titled "Straight From the Heart." Please stay tuned!
